EVA® is an advanced pressure redistribution mattress overlay system designed to prevent and aid in treating pressure injuries up to category 3. With intelligent VLP and CLP modes, it ensures patient comfort, energy efficiency, and enhanced safety with a lightweight, quiet control unit.
Ask any ward nurse what would most improve pressure injury prevention, and most say the same thing: catching it early beats treating it later. We built the EVA overlay mattress around that idea, giving hospitals a pressure redistribution mattress that upgrades an existing bed instead of replacing it.
What Is the EVA Overlay Pressure Redistribution Mattress?
The EVA overlay is a pressure redistribution mattress that helps prevent and treat pressure injuries up to category 3. It fits directly on top of a standard hospital mattress and uses individually replaceable air cells to shift pressure away from at-risk areas like the heels, hips, and sacrum.
Pressure injuries affect an estimated 5% to 15% of hospitalized patients, with higher rates in ICUs and long-term care, according to a 2024 NCBI StatPearls review. We designed the EVA overlay mattress to give care teams a practical upgrade for existing beds, without a full mattress replacement.
How Does the EVA Overlay Prevent and Treat Pressure Injuries?
The EVA overlay mattress runs two modes, Variable Low Pressure (VLP) and Constant Low Pressure (CLP), so the surface adapts to the patient instead of the other way around.
Variable Low Pressure (VLP) Mode
VLP cycles air through the cells every 12 to 15 minutes. This alternating pressure mattress overlay action keeps contact pressure low and comfortable for patients who don’t need constant support.
Constant Low Pressure (CLP) Mode
CLP holds steady pressure across the whole surface. Clinicians often choose this pressure ulcer prevention mattress setting for higher-risk patients who need continuous redistribution.
Who Is the EVA Overlay Mattress For?
The EVA overlay mattress suits hospitals, ICUs, and long-term care facilities that need a dependable pressure redistribution mattress for patients at risk of, or already living with, pressure injuries. It supports patients up to 150 kg, so most adult patients can use it without a specialist bariatric setup.
We built the EVA overlay mattress to hold up in real hospital conditions, not lab tests alone.

Patient safety and comfort is the theme behind the design of EVA®. The unit works on a 12V DC power supply which protect the users from electrical shock even if the power cable snaps or breaks.
EVA® offers peace of mind when it comes to power failure. The unit will equalise pressure in the mattress and maintain it for atleast 10 hours.
What is a pressure redistribution mattress used for?
A pressure redistribution mattress shifts body weight across a wider surface area to reduce sustained pressure on vulnerable skin. The EVA overlay mattress uses this approach to help prevent new pressure injuries and support healing in patients with pressure injuries up to category 3.
What’s the difference between VLP and CLP mode on the EVA overlay?
VLP (Variable Low Pressure) cycles air through the cells every 12-15 minutes for a softer, more dynamic feel. CLP (Constant Low Pressure) holds steady pressure across the surface, which clinicians often choose for higher-risk patients who need continuous support.
How much weight can the EVA overlay mattress support?
The EVA overlay mattress supports patients up to 150 kg. Three mattress options are available (10 cm, 18 cm, and 20 cm thick), so care teams can match the surface to patient acuity and bed setup.
What happens to the EVA overlay mattress during a power failure?
The EVA overlay’s control unit includes power failure management that maintains cell pressure for more than 10 hours after an outage. Audible and visible alarms alert staff immediately, so patient support isn’t interrupted during downtime.
CONSTANT LOW PRESSURE
CLP offers constant pressure in the mattress and maintain same pressure. This will increase pressure redistribution. The operating pressure in this mode is lesser than other operating modes.
VARIABLE LOW PRESSURE
VLP mode generates a low peak contact pressure offering a high level of comfort and pressure relief.
