Dr. Jeffrey Niezgoda

Dr. Jeffrey A. Niezgoda is a highly accomplished medical professional with a distinguished career spanning over three decades. Graduating from the United States Air Force Academy in 1981 and receiving his Medical Degree from the Uniformed Services University of Health Science in 1985, Dr. Niezgoda has devoted his career to enhancing patient care in wound healing. His expertise is evident through his leadership roles, including past presidency of the American Professional Wound Care Association andthe American College of Hyperbaric Medicine. Dr. Niezgoda founded AZH Wound & Hyperbaric Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, underscoring his commitment to excellence in wound care, hyperbaric, vascular, and regenerative clinical services.

For 16 years, Dr. Niezgoda served as the Medical Director of the Center for Comprehensive Wound Care and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He also led Hyperbaric & Wound Care Associates, a prominent physician group offering specialized care locally and internationally. Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Niezgoda has made significant contributions to medical research, playing a pivotal role in the development and introduction of various medical devices and technologies. His influence extends to consultancy roles with industry leaders, as well as advising governmental bodies like CMS and the FDA. Furthermore, as President and Chief Medical Officer of WebCME, he has facilitated the training of thousands of healthcare providers worldwide through online education in wound care and hyperbaric medicine. He is also the cofounder of RxOS Medical and Auxillium Health.

Dr. Niezgoda’s career exemplifies a steadfast dedication to advancing medical care, combining clinical excellence, leadership in professional organizations, and innovative educational initiatives. His contributions have significantly impacted the field of wound healing and hyperbaric medicine, fostering improved patient outcomes and advancing healthcare practices globally.

Prof. Sandeep Gopalakrishnan

Prof. Sandeep Gopalakrishnan is a tenured Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he serves as the Director of the Wound Healing and Tissue Repair Analytics Laboratory. Prof. Gopalakrishnan has more than a decade of experience in academia and has made substantial contributions to clinical trials and outcomes research, particularly in the area of wound healing and tissue repair. He led several clinical trials as Principal Investigator, some of which are documented on ClinicalTrials.gov.

In addition to his academic achievements, Prof. Gopalakrishnan is a Co-Founder of Auxillium Health, a health tech startup established in March 2023. Auxillium Health is at the forefront of providing intelligent healthcare solutions by integrating cutting-edge technologies.

In addition to his other roles, Prof. Gopalakrishnan is a member of the Milwaukee Institute for Drug Discovery, where he investigates new targets for wound healing. His extensive experience in both academic and entrepreneurial settings demonstrate his dedication to improving healthcare through innovative research and practical applications. Prof. Gopalakrishnan also currently serves as the secretary of the American Professional Wound Care Association, one of the largest wound care organizations with a multidisciplinary clinician membership.
